- In 2005, Indonesia produced 152.2 metric ton of hard coal, making it the 7th largest producer in the world.

- Only 27% or 41 metric ton of Indonesia’s total coal production is consumed domestically, with the remainder being exported. Of the coal that is consumed domestically, 75% is used for electricity production and 25% is used by industry.
